Making space and finding time for you
One of the great joys of my clinical work is interacting directly with caregivers - parents, grandparents, extended family, and in-home service providers. While I truly love being able to work with a child or adolescent in therapy, there is nothing quite like working with caregivers to bring about change in the family that generalizes more readily outside of the therapy office.
Some of the areas I focus on with caregivers include:
- Behavioral Strategies in the Home (targeted focus on behaviors you want to change)
- Coordinated Care for Children (across home, school, medical, and community settings)
- Community Resource Referrals (looking at what you need and what is available today)
- Self-Care and Stress Management (prioritizing your well-being to help your family)
